Paint Rush
A downloadable game
Paint Rush is a vibrant team-based couch co-op racing game where players race, shoot paint, and twist the rules to dominate tracks.
Paint Rush combines the thrill of high-speed racing with chaotic paint-fueled strategy in a rebellious underground world built by teenagers. Inspired by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2, players knock over paint buckets and shoot different colored paints from kart-mounted cannons to alter the racetrack in real-time, speeding themselves up, slowing rivals, or jumping to new heights. Customizable racers, multiplayer support, and creatively designed levels make every lap a wild ride. Whether racing solo or with friends, players must learn to mix paint effects wisely and master the terrain to claim victory in this bold, rule-bending racer.
Target Audience
- Ages 10+
- Fans of kart racers, party games, and arcade action
- Perfect for players who enjoy fast-paced multiplayer fun with strategy
Story
You're just a regular teenager until you've stumbled upon a secret underground racing club run by a crew of rebellious teenagers. During one of their chemistry classes, they accidentally created a mysterious paint that defied the laws of physics. With their passion for racing and art, they mixed it to create high-speed races built secretly across abandoned factories, rooftops, and hidden tunnels.
Each color of paint brings different effects, some speed you up, others mess with your rivals, and a few might just break reality itself.
Join the ranks, earn your stripes, and paint the tracks in your name. Just don't ask where the paint came from.

Team Member Bios, Sheridan College Game Level Design Capstone Team (Summer 2025)
Tristan Hafkenscheid: Level Designer and Blueprint Programmer Tristan brings the chaos with style, designing levels and shooting systems that make paint warfare a beautiful mess. As the architect of the Sewer Snake track, he’s turned sludge and slime into a racetrack worthy of legends. When he’s not laying out the perfect curve in a pipe tunnel, he’s fine-tuning the feel of every paint shot, ensuring they splat with style and precision. From splatter physics to layout flow, Tristan is the reason your shots hit and your laps hurt (in the best way).
Ashley Lingxi: Lead UI designer and Artist As a visual artist, Lingxi creates a unique racing environment of an underground called racing club for a group of rebellious young people, combining underground sewers and crazy graffiti. She brings the track to life. Based on the storytelling, she also makes two creative karts, each of which is full of individuality and creativity. She also makes the characters look vivid and fun. In terms of UI design, she creates a stylized graphic design that combines street racing elements and graffiti art.
Magdalena Szlapczynski: Lead 3D Artist and UI Programmer. Magdalena creates optimized and game-ready assets, from the karts, paint balls, to the environment. She also programs the main menu functionalities and UI. She has created unique shaders for objects such as pickups and the actual paints, and animated blueprint actors in the environment, such as paint rivers or moving objects. She is also in charge of creating the characters alongside Ashley and an introductory cutscene.
Jon (Co-Op): Game developer with a focus on cohesive design and implementation. Skilled in building modular, easy-to-understand gameplay systems in Unreal and Unity, focused on simple, satisfying mechanics for local play with friends or CPU opponents.
Elora (Co-Op): Manages organizational aspects of the project and offers help where needed, supporting documentation to programming.
Rose (Co-Op): Programming consultant that's slowly going insane from Unreal.

Customizable Expression - Modify your kart appearance and racer to match your playstyle.
Inclusive Fun - Designed for all skill levels, from casual party play to competitive racers.
Game Core Loop
1. Race against players or AI on underground tracks.
2. Collect paint buckets to fill up your kart's paint cannon.
3. Shoot paint onto the track to create painted areas for yourself or traps for others.
4. Adapt to the constantly changing track conditions caused by paint effects.
